The Shocking Truth About Making Money Online By Blogging

Is there any truth about making money online by blogging?  Yep, there certainly is!

Let me tell you, it took me  years to figure it out – and it was very shocking to me when I finally discovered the truth!

When I first started blogging, people always said ‘come online and make money.’  I was told “All you have to do is blog and you can make money online.”

That was not exactly the truth!  It was only part of the truth.

No one really told me the real deal and it wasn’t until just recently had a course with Donna and David Merrills’ Blogging Fever and Adrienne Smith’s Build A Blog Community that I truly understood what it meant to make money online by blogging.

We all think we can. We’re all told we can. We believe this inevitably without a doubt because that’s what we’re told.

But just recently, talking to a friend of mine…all of a sudden a light bulb went off! The truth – it came out.

Right after that, I read a blog post that said the ‘exact same thing’ and lo and behold – bells and whistles and stars blew up around my head as I had an epiphany!

The Law of Attraction (LOA) working in it’s best form. Read more about LOA here from Kelli Cooper’s Life Made To Order.

What Do You Mean I Can’t Make Money Online?

Well, of course you can but initially many of us  are deceived and led in different directions.  For instance:

  • How many tweets do you see regarding ‘Click this link and make money online?’
  • How many people do you see dropping links on every social media site?  Have you made any money this way?
  • How many FB posts do you see with someone telling you ‘how much money they made and great promises for you too?’
  • How many FB ads do you see promising you miracle money?
  • How many strangers reach out to you on social media telling you they have the perfect way for you to make money?
  • How many have told you can blog and make money?
  • How many people have told you that you can make money immediately by clicking on a link.

Have you made any money yet?  That’s because it’s not true and it’s not that easy!

You’re still being deceived because you ARE NOT making money online doing the same as the bullets above.

Do you notice that none of these bullets above mention ‘how’ to make this money.”

That’s because we’re actually NOT doing what we need to do to make it happen online.

You may get some info, a free report, a video or such that gives you a few tips but there is a whole lot more work that goes into it and it involves more than blogging.

The Truth About Making Money Online and Blogging

Truth is there are many different ways to make money online but the act of ‘just blogging’ is not one of them.

Blogging is a vehicle; a tool to making money by building relationships with people you meet online and in the blogging world.

Once you’ve established relationships with the world (Internet), then there is the possibility of making money.

You blog to:

  • Tell people about yourself
  • To build a relationships
  • To introduce people to your product or services
  • To provide a service to people so that they will come to you to ask questions to develop that all-important-relationship

Your possibility should be based on:

  • Great information and content
  • Great products
  • Great personality
  • Great relationships

What Are We Doing Wrong?  Why You Haven’t Made Money Online?

We build a website. We blog and write posts weekly, bi-weekly, etc.

We think we can sell our products by dropping links. We think we can recruit into our network marketing business without knowing a soul.

We think we can just sell our wares/products to anyone just because we think they’re good.

But it’s not that easy, and that is the truth.  There’s so much more to it than that.

Let me give you the perfect example. I am a network marketer – one of the many ways people get into home-based businesses.

When I first joined a network marketing company 6-7 years ago, I was told, build a blog, write and easy peasy…you can get people to join your business, meet people and make money online.

Here’s what I found out.

Shocking Truth Revealed

Yes you can do business online.  Yes you can make money online.

BUT No one told me there are really only a few ways to do it.

  • If you want to produce a product to sell (a course or and eBook solving a problem).
  • If you want to be a writer and write books, blog posts or other documentation for others (freelance).
  • If you want to be an affiliate marketer or sponsored ads.

These are just a few ways to actually make money online and the real truth of the matter is that you still have to build relationships first to do that.  And …

The 2nd real truth is that it takes a lot of time; more time than most people are willing OR able to commit to.

Making Money Online

There are a ga-zillion people out there trying to make money online! But the REAL AND CERTAIN truth is YOU have to do a number of things to successfully make it happen.

Here are ways you won’t make money online:

  • You won’t make money online by just going on Facebook and dropping links in any Group you think.
  • You won’t just automatically go into a Group on FB and recruit people to your business.
  • You won’t go on Twitter and think that people will automatically want to join your networking group or buy Twitter followers or
    whatever product you are promoting.
  • You won’t just put up a blog and post and think that people will automatically start buying from you.
  • You won’t put up a blog and provide crappy content.

There is so much more to blogging to make money and unfortunately, most of you don’t get the ‘skinny’ or the real deal until years later and by then, most of given up.

There is so much more to Internet marketing, blogging and selling online  and unfortunately, most of you don’t get the ‘skinny’ or the real deal until years later and by then most have given up.

So What Do You Do?

  • Find someone to help you create your blog.
  • Learn WordPress.
  • Pick out a great theme and get it started learning how to create a post (talk to me if you’re unsure what this means)
  • Learn about great content and what it means before you start posting.
  • Start creating relationships on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites.  Say ‘hi to interesting people; share their posts; interact and start communications with people.
  • Learn about business and understand what the relationship is between sales people and their customers

Finally, prepare your mind, body and spirit for the long haul in order to reach success, blogging or whatever you choose to do online.

You can successfully blog online and make money but the key is re-setting expectations and understanding that many people will not click on a button and ‘buy’ from you right away without effort and relationship building.

Have you sold ‘anything in your journey online?  Have you made any money?   Is it working for you?  What have you been doing to build relationships with people so that you can have success.

Be honest.  What’s your take?  Very interested in helping you meet those goals.  Sign up for a free e-report by clicking here to learn ‘soft sell’ approach to help you start to learn how to make money online.  Looking forward to working with you.

    Hi Barbara,

Agree with all that you mentioned 🙂

I was nodding my head right through! Making money through blogging is not easy at all, unless you do the things that need to be done. Yes, many are making it, but where do they share their real secrets, and I wonder what they state is true!

There are many ways to earn online, though for bloggers, I think mainly the ones you mentioned work best. Honestly speaking, I still have to fully get on with earning from my blog, which was never created to earn, as that aspect was covered by my writing. But with the amount of time I’m now devoting to blogging, and the ABC, forums etc- I better start! So, we are gradually learning and implementing certain things and ways, but it all takes time. Unless you have some affiliates, courses, eBooks, products, or things to sell, it’s not easy.

You are right about the building relationship part of it – nothing works better than that! Dropping links all over will get you nowhere, and might take away people from your blog altogether. But the trust you build over time with blogging friend’s and how you connect with people is what gets you there, isn’t it?

Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead 🙂

      Hi Harleena,

I had to laugh when you said you were nodding your head as your read. I find myself doing that too when something strikes me as true as I read. I just wish someone had told me earlier what I needed to do to make money online and told me it was not easy . I wish I had learned all the real secrets before I started.

I’m glad you think the things I mentioned were important. It means I’m giving appropriate information to our bloggers and that’s a good thing. If your blog was set up not to earn, will you make a change in the future. I think you can easily earn with your blog now, not just with writing, but in advertising and other stuff.

You have an awesome community and an awesome blog. You’ve built up trust with blogger and you’re well known so you will only get bigger and better.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting me again and providing your support.

      Have a great week.

      Hi Julian,

Thank you and thanks for stopping by as well. Yes, time are tough and the sooner new bloggers and entrepreneurs understand the better and quicker it is for them to be successful in their business. Please feel free to share so that others may learn.

      Take care.

This statement “Blogging is a vehicle; a tool to making money by building relationships with people you meet online and in the blogging world.” literally hit the nail on the head. If you look at making money with a blog in general terms (write posts, make money) it doesn’t happen. Nothing is more important than building relationships with your readers and other bloggers online. It’s just the simple truth. Great post!

    • says

      Thanks Megan.

Welcome to my blog! 🙂 Glad you liked the post and that it had the impact I was aiming for. People need to understand otherwise it’s a waste of their time and their money. They’ve got to build those relationships to make it work.

Be well and have a great week.

  4. says

    Hi Barbara,

Love this truthful post! There are so many people out there that will say it is quick and easy -NOT.

Very true, our blog is a vehicle when having a business online. To me, it is the “free” information I can give others. If they want to know more, I have products that will help them do that. Most my own, but I can steer them to affiliates also.

We do have to master our blogging techniques in a way that we can write good information for others. But having a business online requires so many things. We can create or own products, we can be affiliates, or network marketers, etc. Whatever it is we are doing, it must be more than our blog itself.

Yes, as I stepped up and created my first product, it is selling, but that’s not the end all. I create digital paid training products once a month, but also have my VIP club set up for those who get it all free at a low monthly cost…

But it still doesn’t end there. Creating a business online is constantly moving. It is a lot of work, but I always remind myself of the time when I first started to blog. It was a lot of work, until I got into the swing of things, and then it became easier.

We need the mindset that we are doing business. Once that gets through our thick heads, we see all that needs to be done. Our blogs a a part of it. Even when I do ads, people always visit my blog to see who I am, what I do and the most important thing they all are impressed about is the people who visit me and comment. So yes…Our blogs do play an important role, but it is not the end all.

The best advice you mentioned here is learn about business! I spend two hours a day learning. I may be tired and want to watch TV and veg out, but instead, I put on a webinar, or look at something I purchased. Then put it into action. “learning is earning”

Many thanks for mentioning me in this post Barbara, I sure do appreciate that.

      HI D onna,

All you say is true and I can’t say it any better. It’s amazing how you ‘blew up’ when you decided what direction you wanted to go in. Your business plan is well defined and you have the time, energy, inclination and the materials to be successful and it all started with your blog. That’s what we’re trying to get across to others. Even your comment to me could be a post. 🙂

I think the last thing you mentioned about learning is truly important. I always try to get to at least one ‘tool,’ info or something that will help me in my blogging and business journey.

Thanks for your support and you are welcome about the mention. You deserve it and helped me although I’ve not yet implemented everything. New baby in the house and all. 😉

Anyway, be well and talk soon.

    Hey Barbara,

Amen to this my friend, amen to this.

As you know, I wrote a post last year that pointed out this same thing. You can make money by blogging but the only way you’ll accomplish that is if you have a HUGE amount of traffic coming to your blog that high end advertisers will want to pay you to place ads on your site. Anyone who just places ads on their site isn’t making a full-time income from just that unless you’ve been doing this for a darn long time. That is possible but I bet they have other sources of income coming in as well.

This is a process and that’s what I love about blogging. It’s the way you can help people in your niche solve their problems. Sure, it might be a simple thing they need and they may or may not ever visit again but most will always run into some area they need help with. If they know they can count on you to deliver that information then they’re going to keep coming back.

It’s up to us to start connecting with those people and building that trust factor. Those are the people who will end up buying from us whether it’s affiliate products we promote, a network marketing business they want to be a part of like yours, consulting to help them learn further in areas they need help with or buying our own products, services or courses.

There really are so many different ways to make money online but without a following it will be difficult. With all the dishonest people in our world today you have to build up that trust factor so that they know you are legit and here for the right reasons.

I love seeing people have success and those that finally “get it” are the ones that are making their way online. There is plenty of room for everyone but I’m glad you sharing this topic my dear. There are still a lot of people confused about how this all works but I know it’s possible for them too if they’re willing to give it their best shot.

Great share Barbara and I’ll be sure to spread this one around too. Enjoy your afternoon.

      Hi Adrienne,

Yes I remember you wrote about this before. I know I’m one of those people that have read it, seen it but didn’t really want to believe that I needed to do all that! Now I get it and I wanted to share it.

So I wrote the article because I bet there are thousands, millions of peoople out there trying to come online and make money and have heard it but not absored it and that’s what happened to me in the last few weeks! Wow, what a real eye-opening and a path I havent’ decided I really want to follow in that I never thought about writing eBooks and such until I took a course with Donna. Even though I heard the words ‘create a product’ I always blew it off ’cause that’s not what I wanted to do.

When I understood it was necessary for the process, then I started wrapping my brain around getting to work. Still haven’t presented my first book although it’s written. I got to get with that.

Anyway, yes you know the deal and you’re the one who has consistently told me about building relationships and communities. It all works together and that’s what I’m getting to appreciate.

Much love for your support as always.
Talk soon and you have a great week-end (it’s Thursday already!) 🙂

Hi Barbara, I started working online with a retail site years ago making money and then went on to blog about it as people were asking me questions via email and phone about how to do it. So I thought writing a blog would be a great way to save myself time and help others.
I no longer do that business (lost in divorce) but I continue to blog on social media, blogging and SEO that I continue to learn about and make a little money along the way. I haven’t the time this year to really make money from it but hope too once again in the future. It takes a LOT of time and if you work outside of online it can be 24/7 life til you hit it right.
Great post and love your honesty with this one Barbara! Have a great weekend ahead.

      Hi Lisa,

That’s the thing about blogging as well. It does take much time to gather your audience, provide the content, then try to make a little of that money. It’s hard work as you can attest and you’re absolutely right – sure does seem like a 24/7 thing to me and if I don’t keep up I feel it in traffic, in post and in making money. It’s not an easy tasks and that’s what I wanted people to know. I’ve struggled with it for a long time and never really could figure out why so when it hit me, it was like a bomb!

Anyway, better late than never and I hope this helps others to understand and come to that ephiphany faster than I did.

Hope all is well with you. Glad you enjoyed the article.

      Take care for now.

    Hi Barbara,

I can relate to the misinformation provided as a beginner. I read hearing if you built it, they will come. Just write and people will find you. Sure they will, eventually lol.

I love when I have moments like the epiphany you had. That’s how you know things are coming together and happening as they shouldn.

The truth you’ve uncovered is real. Blogging is just part of the process. I think it’s conveyed this way because people tend to make things seem simpler than they are. I guess it’s easier to get someone’s attention that way.

You’re right and things have all come together in my head so now to make sure I implement and follow up on all the things I now know.

Blogging as a part of the process and I hope I’ve explained it well enough so that they truly understand. It would be great to get a person’s attention for quickly understanding. That’s a goal of the blog as well. Great content to help them get to a level they feel comfortable with and to be successful.

Hi Barbara, this is a great post and one I am just starting to learn about. Making money online wasn’t really my goal, although that would have been a lovely side benefit. I just enjoyed blogging but I did want to increase traffic to my blog. I wasn’t part of any social networks so really my blog went nowhere. Then I decided to take the plunge and joined LinkedIn and Twitter. There I met lovely people and it has only been in this past month, mostly due to Adrienne Smith, that I have realized relationship building is crucial and that it requires real effort. This post basically confirms that. So here we go, Barbara, it is so very nice to meet you and learn from you. Hope to share much more.

      Hi Lenie,

First thanks for finding your way to my blog. Many people do blog just because they enjoy it but many come online to blog to make money. Most bloggers are online to grow their business and make money for sure. Twitter is a great way to communicate and develop relationships as is LinkedIn although I find LinkedIn not so much.

Yes Adrienne is the Queen when it comes to relationship building but her real forte is helping others who want to be successful at blogging.

I appreciate you coming by and it is certainly nice to meet you as well.

Great post Barbara and I agree with every word you say. I set my blog up originally to help promote my eBook as I was told by marketing people that is what I should do. I’ve used mine mainly to provide free information and to entice people onto my list which is a good way to build a relationships with your subscribers.

I have rarely made money directly from my blog although it used to happen more when I first set it up than it does now. I started to make some money from Google Adsense too until my traffic dropped off because Google didn’t like blogs that had adverts above the fold and of course there was the Google Panda and Penguin which didn’t help. I keep thinking there must be an easier way than to keep on blogging but for the moment I go on.
Sandy Halliday recently posted…Top 3 Ways Of Detoxing Your Body With Sea KelpMy Profile

    • says

      Hi Sandy,

In all honesty, you might want to get an evaluation from some of the bloggers you are developing relationships with now for honest insight. Many people tell us what we need to do but may not tell us exactly how to do it. That was my problem and a reason I wrote this post.

So let me ask you a question. Traffic has gone down right? Without looking at Google Panda and Penguin, what do you think about your blog and what impression it gives. Then ask why you are not making money, particularly if you ‘used’ to make money before.

Is your free information you are providing something that people are really looking. For instance, for each article you write do you look up the keywords you are using in the article and see how many people are searching for that ‘keyword.’ I looked up ‘detox and in the whole of blogger/internet, there are only 320,000 people searching for that word. However, there are 79,400,000 websites for that keyword. So you must ask yourself, how must I stand out in this sea of traffic against that amount of websites?

Can you narrow your keyword down or do a long tail keyword and generate a smaller niche that may bring more traffic to your site? Can you pick a topic that will be unique enough in your niche, i.e., detoxing for overweight children;detoxing for diabetes (is it possible?), detoxing for high blood pressure? Have you updated your eBook that you were selling prior with new and pertinent information? If it’s a good keyword and many people are searching for it, have you done an additional article, same topic – keyword, but additional or new information on it?

These are things you can do to get more traffic to your blog. If you’d like to talk more let me know. If you were getting traffic before and selling before and now you’re not, in my humble opinion, you need to make additional changes to address that.

Last thing is yes it’s good to get people to your website to get a list started, but what are you doing now to keep them on your list. Do you provide info through mailing them info on detoxing? How are you continuing to help the people on your list? Are you providing them with more input?

Anyway, just a few things to think about.

There are easier ways many of which I’ve mentioned above, but I think there is more work to be done. We can’t blog and just expect people to come. We have provide valuable input on a regular basis and if they are not coming, then there must be something we’re lacking in or on our website. Anyway, just some insight. Not saying that is the case with your website, but maybe a bit of blog evaluation will give additional insight.

      Hope you find this helpful.

      Have a great week.

      • says

Yes Barbara, I look up keywords to see what people are searching for and write articles based around long tail KW’s. And, yes I am now going more for the detox for weight loss subniche. I have written my new free report around that and have just about finished rewriting my eBook to update it with the latest information.

And yes, I send a lot of information about detox to my list. My traffic has been increasing since it dropped off but I still don’t get anywhere near the traffic I got before but some of that can be because so many people jumped onto the detox and juicing bandwagon after I did. There is as you say a lot of competing sites. It is hard to know what to do to stand out.

        • says

          Hi Sandy,

These were just a few ideas. If you’re doing everything right, then you should be getting traffic. Narrowing down ‘the why’ is the important thing. Yes, you could say everyone jumped on the detox bandwagon – that is evident but so it is in the health and wellness industry. You just have to re-fine or fine-tune your niche – that’s all I was trying to say. One thing you didn’t say is are you writing more than one article on this. It may be hard to get on the first page of Google, with all the multiple websites on ‘detoxing’ but that means a number of articles with the right keywords specific to one target audience who detoxes. Just my suggestion to dig a little deeper and see if you can refine your niche to people who detox for a specific condition. Might not be weight loss. Could be something else that gets you on the first page. Anyway, just my thoughts. Good luck.

    Hey Barbara
First off, thanks for linking into my blog. I so appreciate that! I think this was a great post discussing a very important topic. Many people are led by promises of easy money as you say, not realizing building a business online takes some work, just as an offline business would. I think people confuse the ease and flexibility of working an online venture with it being ‘easy’ and taking no work.

You are so right about blogging being a vehicle to build those relationships, showcase knowledge etc…

I think people also underestimate the importance of working on themselves and not just their business. They are always looking to gobble up the practical tips like writing content, social media,etc..which is obviously important, not realizing the importance of cultivating a mindset that will support succeeding with anything in the entrepreneurial realm.

    Great pots!

      Hi Kelli,

Hope you’ve had a good week. And you’re welcome for the backlink. Definitely I think LOA should be part of everyone’s understanding of how to make their business succeed.

You’re right that people are led by promises of easy money. It takes as much, as you noted, online to do a business as a typical brink and mortar. Maybe more. Either way, building relationships has to come first.

And more than anything, the proper mindset is the key. If you don’t have the right mindset, it can be so easy to give up and fail. A very important thought. Thank you for bringing that up too.

Thanks for stopping by Kelli. Have a great week.

    Hey Barbara,

The truth has been revealed. Yes it took me a long, long time to really figure it out. And you know what? I’m still trying to figure things out, but I’m in a better position now than I was 5 years ago when I first started blogging.

Yes there were a few people that actually told me if I start blogging then I’ll make money. Well that was easier said than done. There are a new of factors that go into this when it comes to blogging. The main goal if you want to make any money is the know, like, and trust factor, and even getting your visitors to go through all three take some planning and strategies.

Yes blogging is more than meets the eye and you know quite a few ways of being successful with it in no matter what business model you use. Yes i believe blogging is great way to brand yourself which shows your audience how competent you are. And that’s what it take to become an ‘authority’ in what you do!

    Great share Barbara! Take Care!

      H Sherman,

I have to laugh when you said you’re still trying to figure it out. 🙂 I am too and I think most people are. I agree with you also that I am in a better position than I was 4 years ago. Now I have some knowledge, but I wonder how many people would really come online to build a business and using blogging as a tool if they really knew up front how long it would take. Bet there would be less businesses online.

It’s amazing that so many people coming online for business don’t know that blogging is the key to branding and developing yourself. We were lucky and found out in 4-5 years. Many people never learn or do not find the right people to teach them and finally quit. That is sad because a lot of wasted time and effort go into our blogs if we don’t continue.

You said it right ‘blogging is more than meets the eye’ – sounds like a blog post to me. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and providing your input. It is important for those leaving comments to understand a more than one woman perspective. Thank you.

      Have a great week.

    Hey Barbara,
Great post for a new blogger like me. thank you so much for your informative information about making money as I have a limited knowledge about the topic. Will surely apply for monetizing my blog.

Thank you so much for the post!!!!!!

    Hi Barbara,

    Interesting article!
You really bring a good topic for discussion. 🙂

I strongly agree with you. In the world of blogging, there is no way overnight to make money from blogs. It takes hard work, commitment and consistent.

I do not believe if there is a program that offers you can earn a lot of money by doing a little work. That’s not how life works. If you want to earn a lot of money, then you need to give more effort than most people.

Indeed, whatever way of life that you choose, it will make you become a strong human in dealing with various problems of life. 🙂

Thanks for sharing this post with us, Barbara.
    it’s a motivating one!

Do have a wonderful week ahead!

    Hi Barbara

I must say that this is the best post I have seen on making money with blogging. What you have said is true and I know this is a post that every new blogger should read before taking a plunge into blogging

In the realm of blogging, I agree that it is not a get rich quick scheme. It is a lot of work and no one became successful in blogging overnight. Come to think of it, no one buys a product or service from who they don’t trust so why will one believed that blogging is so different.

I love your practical tips on what tondo in order to make money and you are spot on. Relationship is the way to achieve success in blogging.

Thanks for sharing this post. Have a lovely week

      Hi Ikechi.

I wish someone had told me earlier in my journey to blogging. I might not have focused so much on blogging but building relationships first. I thought I could come online and just sell and that is not the case. Product or service, it didn’t manner. I felt I was deceived.

Anyway, finally learned the deal and had to share with everyone. I’m glad you liked the tips. Hope they will be of value to someone new.

      Thanks for stopping by.

      Have a great week.

    Hey Barbara,

Good post here. I disagree with you, however, when you said there were only a few ways to make money online.

There are many services that could be provided that could make money. A lot of them revolve around the coaching / consulting services that could be provided.

Regardless, it is about those relationships before you try to make money. I haven’t really been trying to sell anything or have made money yet, but I’m working on that now. And the reason I didn’t do it before was because I wanted to build relationships first.

Now that I’ve built relationships, I’ll start trying to monetize.

    Great post.

      Hi Andrew,

You’re right in saying that we could add coaching/consulting to the very small list of how to make money online. I consider ‘all’ coaching to be in one category, no matter what the service and you’re right. That is one way, but my immediate feeling is that there are not enough qualified people out there who consider themselves coaches and the other thing is my post was mainly for new people coming online; someone most likely not coming online as a coach right away understanding enough about internet marketing and business to actually be successful right away.

It all boils down to understanding the marketing aspect (no matter what the business) of building relationships first. I would also add ‘references’ so we do agree. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and adding that one. Missed that one.

    Thanks for the post Barbara!

Before I started blogging, I often read stories about people describing how easy it was and how they made so much money from it. But it’s a lot harder than I originally believed. It takes a lot of commitment and determination to just get started and I can it really isn’t for everyone. People might be excited to get started for the first couple of months, but after a while it gets tiresome and exhausting.

    • says

      Hi Michael,

Yes you’re absolutely right. It is not easy but so many people think it is and it is definitely a perpetuated myth LOL! It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done as it does take time and commitment and determination. You are spot on with these.

I like that you said blogging is not for everyone. People should know this and that can help prevent any feelings of guilt if they feel they don’t want to do it anymore. Those feelings of guilt can effect you if you don’t want to continue in your blogging, but want to continue in your business. It’s best to have no feelings of remorse if it gets exhausting. that’s why we have to set up expectations right away.

It is not easy, but it can be rewarding if the right expectations are set. People will then be able to move forward in the right capacity and be successful.

      Thanks for coming by.

      Have a great week.

    Hello Ms. Barbara

    I hope you are well.

Very interesting post and I love the truth in what you wrote.
I did not start blogging to make money since I had no clue that is what people do. I started so that I would have a platform to share some of the life coaching tips.

I do have my local clients and my goal is to create a membership site for life coaching. So we shall see what will take place.
I have not have lots of time due to David (my son) and other obligations.

But I do know that blogging is not the way to make money. I think blogging is a great platform but a service needs to be provided.

    Thank you again

  22. says

    Hi Gladys,

People definitely blog with the objective of making money whether they are promoting their business, providing a service or providing information – all are designed to help build relationships with people

You want to be able to direct your local clients as well as new clients to your website. The blog would be used to build relationships with your new people so they get to know what you offer and how you can help them. You might want to try writing some posts on that. Then new people would become new clients if all goes well.

You can send your posts to new people and others to get them to your site, among the many other ways, but that is how you would begin to build your business online and possibly make money.

It is about building. Good luck,

You see Barbara this post is supposed to be read by everyone getting into blogging especially those coming to make money. Some marketers make it sound like there is a magic button. They just want to sell their stuff and that’s all.

One of the reasons many bloggers drop is when they start facing their realities. They will fill their social media pages with make money links and when no one clicks to buy, the worst happens.

As you explain, this thing is possible but tied behind hard work, smartness and time. Nothing good comes easy.

Thanks for telling the whole world the shocking truth

      Hi Enstine,

Thank you so much for stopping by. Yes, I agree. I wish someone had told me the truth about blogging and all that was involved when I first started. I thought it was a magic button as that’s what I was told. I wanted to sell my stuff but had no clue how to go about it. Someone said blog and I started writing not understanding any of what I was supposed to do. It took about 2 years before I found the right person to help me.

With that said, yes, bloggers drop out when they find out the truth. It takes time, specifics, commitment and more time. And I absolutely hate where they’re dropping links and not understanding that that is exactly the reasons they’re not getting anywhere. It’s a vicious cycle.

If introduced correctly, they will know about the hard work and the time it takes and have a better understanding and expectation of what it takes to be a successful blogger and business person.

I hope the truth doesn’t turn people off. I hope the truth helps them to reach out to those of us who can help them so they can get it done.

Take care for now and God bless.

When I heard about the few words “Make Money Online”, it sound to really stupid to me.

I went into internet business since last 5 years, but I am not able to make much money from internet.

I started my first blog on 2010, and deleted it after three months. I start my blog, and I keep continue for around 2 years. I failed with blogging, again and I quite it as the second time.

On 2013, I have join internet marketing network with Empower Network. You know..? That is the time that I really learnt about what is business online.

You know..? I lost $1500 for pay membership. However, I not regret because of losing those money. I made my first online with Empower Network.

I learn that to make money online, we need blog. We learn to doing business business with other people. Sure, relationship is really important for blogging and other business.

You know..? To make money online we need a creative product such as you mentioned – Training, eBook, or so on.

Secondly, you have to know about how to value your product, and how find people who value your product. Isn’t it..?

You have to keep connect with those people, and find best for telling them about your products.

    Thanks for sharing..
