Barbara Charles – A Shorter Path To Financial Success

themepicWelcome! Finally, I’ve got my new website up and running and I’m so excited! A couple of weeks ago I talked about how I planned to create better business habits, but to also step up my game to help others find success.

My goal is to help others, in particular, new entrepreneurs, find that path. My struggles when I started blogging and marketing was that I didn’t know a thing and everyone has their own methods, ideas and plans. Who could I turn to?

I want to provide a place of knowledge for all entrepreneurs and the first step in doing that was reforming my website.

I looked long and hard for something new and exciting. I wanted a clean professional yet welcoming look that would give an idea of my spirit regarding life. I searched and saw many templates, but I kept coming back to this nice, clean, beautiful look.

But the main reason I wanted the change is one day I had a new commenter who visited my site and although she liked the article she mentioned one important thing. She said ‘Although I love the article, I still don’t have any idea of what you really do.’

Bam! Wow! That’s a bummer! Isn’t one of the goals of our blogging is so that people know who you are? It’s about relationship building, isn’t it? And that statement told me that I was missing the boat.

Again last year sometime, someone wrote a post about all the prominent bloggers in a particular circle and I was blessed and honored to be included in that group. But, again what stood out to me was that I was known for ‘inspiration and motivation,’ certainly a wonderful thing, but that didn’t really show ‘why’ I was blogging either.

These things have been on my mind for over a year, and after much thought, I decided to make some changes. So here is my new theme, my new blog, and you will see some exciting new changes over the next few weeks. Keep your eyes open – there’s gonna be bigger and better changes! 🙂

So what do you think so far? What do you think of my new theme? Any suggestions? I’m still building on it and would love to hear your comments? Thanks so much in advance.

      Hi Jennifer,

Awww thank you! I’m so glad you like it! I had to laugh out loud when you said it screams ‘me!’ That is a great compliment and makes me feel like I’m starting it out right. Thanks my friend!

I’ll keep you posted for sure. New stuff and the ‘real’ me will come out. 😉
Thanks for the congrats and the encouragement.
      Take care.

    Hi Barbara,

Love the site and I agree it looks neat and clean.

Yes, girl, it’s when someone tells you “I’m not sure what you’re into” that it’s a signal that we have room for clarifications. I’m glad you took this to heart. I can tell you I’ve read that the same things happened to other people and they also seemed to have listened and improved.

I also like the wider look of it , but the way 🙂 it makes it easier to read.

    Have a wonderful week ahead!

      Hi Sylviane,

Thanks for the feedback. I felt it was fresh and clean too. I loved it and kept going back to and finally just bit the bullet.

And it’s always important to listen to others else we fail in our attempts. I take good advice to heart and I always try to ‘listen’ to what people say, else I will never learn.

Thanks for stopping by and you have a good week too! Give Sophie kitty kisses for me! 🙂

    Hey Barbara,

I know you’ve been struggling for awhile now to decide which direction to go. I know you started this particular blog for a reason and then as most people do, they fall victim to writing about blogging because people want to know how the heck you did certain things. It’s totally understandable because we are here to help our readers but the problem lies in taking us off the path we were on and then you find yourself lost and unhappy with the direction you are not headed.

I hope you find where you belong here and help others find their place as well. You’ll get there, I do believe these things take time.

I do like the new look, it’s so fresh and clean. I like the bigger layout too so you’ve done really well here.

Good luck with what’s to come and have a great week too.

      Hi Adrienne,

Thanks for the support. You’re right. I was led away from my original path and I’m going to go back to that although I love blogging about ‘blogging’ and helping people that way, there are other goals and I am slowly going to work toward that. I want to keep both – help with blogging and talk about the ‘real’ business which I started in. No one knows about that, but it’s up and coming. 🙂 I know my place, it’s just getting there and helping others too.

I glad you like the new look. I’ve still got some things to do. 🙂 Keep me posted as you see the changes. I’ve love to get your feedback.

      Take care for now.

    Hi Barbara,
I love the clean, crisp new look of your website. Looks like you’ve got your Spring cleaning well in hand! 🙂

I think the more you focus on your goal of helping others, of living in alignment with your purpose, the inspiration and the writing that comes from it will follow.

Be true to who you are. Add value to others from that vantage point. For me, that would be a shorter path to financial success.

    Kind Regards,

      Hi Bill,

Thanks for the feedback. You’re right and that was the point of my post. A shorter way to financial success by helping others is by helping others find the value that so eluded me. Too many people out there pretending to help others and I was one of those trying to find success. If others had provided me with the knowledge I needed, I would have reached my success point earlier. My goal is to help others reach their success points faster by providing them with knowledge, time, inspiration and motivation.

I have always been true to who I am. I needed the knowledge and tools to get to a certain point and that was hard to find. I hope to help others get their faster.

Thanks for providing your input. 🙂
      Be well.

    Hey Barbara,

You must be my twin. First I find out that you’re in IT and now you changed you blog. Just recently I changed my theme to the Genesis Framework and purchased a child theme. So it looks like we’re both on the right track!

This goes with a saying i heard around 2000 working at a university after I graduated from College. It goes “everything that is real is subject to change”. And I tell you, we are keeping it real with ourselves 🙂 It shows that we’re moving forward!

Thanks for sharing and I definitely love the new theme! Take Care!

      Hi Sherman,

Twins Uh?! Too funny! My old template was also Genesis Framework with a child theme. So I had to go with another one. I’m addicted! 🙂 And you are on the right track if you picked Genesis. If you need any help let me know but I’m sure you got it covered. Yes I’ve been in IT Compliance, Testing and Quality Assurance for over 20 years! Just call me ‘computer geek!’ 🙂

Glad you like the new theme. Still building on it. Need to establish some new Categories. Good luck with your new one. Can’t wait to see it! 🙂

      Have a happy Easter.

    Hi Barbara,

Like everyone said, your new look is very clean, wider and engaging. StudioPress guys do a great job of creating awesome themes, don’t they?

I am glad you decided to go on Genesis Framework as well. It is actively maintained theme with some great features. Great choice of theme!

When I started blogging, it was for my personal branding purpose to help me establish my new business. Soon it became about others when people started to ask for help and since then, it has been all about helping others as you said.

    Thank you for sharing.
