Hi. My name is Barbara Charles. I’m a middle aged entrepreneur, blogger, and mother of 3 grown children! I was just a hard working woman doing the corporate thing for years! However, in 2008, I had a major life change! That was the year the sub-prime lending was in full swing. Like many others, I got caught up in the craziness. As 2009 approached, I knew my mortgage was going to increase, but I figured “How high could it be?” I made a good salary, 6 figures, and figured it wouldn’t be anything too crazy, right? Wrong!!!
In January 2009, I came home from work and opened a letter from my mortgage company that indicated my mortgage would go up by $1509.00 a month!!! I was in shock and paralyzed into inaction. I didn’t own a $500,000 dollar house with massive amounts of property that might account for an over $4500 mortgage and I had no clue what to do or how to fix it! So to make a long story short, I asked for a loan modification and the mortgage company turned me down; not once, twice, but three times! Now I was really frightened! I didn’t want to lose my house!
So when I finally got my stunned brain thinking again, I figured I would try to find something to supplement my income! Working another job outside the home was not an option as I worked sometimes 60 hours a week! The only way I could see logically even to make a little headway was to try a home-based business and work an extra 10 hours a week, probably on the week-ends.
I was vehementently opposed to home-based businesses. Wasn’t interested, but’s it’s amazing what a life changing event will do for you! I started listening and learning. Despite my opposition to home-based businesses and network marketing, I knew such companies could produce outstanding results! While many people outside the industry (and others who’ve tried it and failed), have biased or negative impressions, I understood that network marketing was a legitimate business strategy so I took a look. I looked at various opportunities because I was tired of working 60 hours (and now probably more) with little return.
After much research I finally found a company and products that I could relate to and it changed my life! I created residual income, a monthly supplemental income and a company paid monthly car payment! The lessons and growth as a person have been phenonmenal! So now I’m a middle aged entrepreneur and I want to help others, anyone at this stage or life, or just entering the world of entrepreneurship who may need to take this same step to provide for their future. There was so much I didn’t know and there was no one to really help me.
Well there are some of us who have gone through the rigorous learning process and now want to make it easier for any one else who may be having financial difficulties or life issues. I help anyone who wants to improve their circumstances and their life!
